It all started with Michelina Massa and Pietro D’Aiello  (photo 1912)

The Bottones

Michelina was born in America to Italian parents.
First of 12 children, was adopted by his uncles Bottone

and brought to live in their home in Positano that today is the heart of our hotel. (painting end of 1800)

After the marriage between Michelina and Pietro the abode welcomed the spouses and then the four children Vito, Raffaele, Maria and Carolina. (photo 1923)
In 1936 Pietro D’Aiello with his sons opened one of the first accommodations in the country. (photos from 1936 to 1962)
